To create the candle you will need:
bleached beeswax (≈60-80 g)
wax melter or water bath containers
silicone mat
stack with balls (bulka)
spoon
knife
box cutter (scalpel)
wooden skewer
fat-soluble wax dye
wax wick
construction hair dryer
petal liner
center mold (optional)
Preparation:
The room should be warm, without a draft, work on a warm surface, so the wax will cool more slowly. If the countertop is cold, you can put a towel, wooden board or heated mat under it.
Pour the wax into a container and put it on a water bath or in a wax melter (without allowing the wax to get steam) melt the wax to a liquid state
Spread a mat, clean it from dust, if necessary, lubricate it with vegetable oil (optional).
Prepare all the tools in front of you
Preparation of wax:
To the melted wax add colorant. The amount depends on the desired color. If you want to achieve a bright shade, use a well-pigmented dye, as adding too much may make the wax more brittle.
Stir the wax well to melt the dye.
Making process:
(a) Making the center:
Option 1: pour the melted wax into the mold and let it cool down.
2 variant: pour the wax on a mat, cooled to warm wax hands roll into a ball as shown in the video.
b) inner petals:
pour the wax onto the mat, spreading it thinly with a spoon
Using a scalpel, cut out a “fence” of small petals.
Separate the “fence” from the mat and round the petals with a stack.
twist it around the center, bending the petals inwards.
insert a wooden skewer into the center, not all the way through.
c) the main petals:
pour the wax on the mat, spreading it with a spoon and forming a layer of medium thickness
cut out 85-90 petals of elongated shape from slightly cooled wax with a scalpel, dimensions: 1.3-1.5 by 4-5 cm.
using a viner give texture to the petals, if necessary, heat them with a hair dryer or flame.
round the petals using a stack
d) forming the bud:
glue the petals on the center in a circle, pressing them to the bottom; each subsequent row should be slightly lower than the previous one
periodically correct the petals with your hands so that they do not lose their rounded shape.
e) wick:
using a skewer, carefully make a hole for the wick
Insert the wick, pressing the wick holder against the bottom.
