The room should be warm, without a draft, work on a warm surface, so the wax will cool more slowly. If the worktop is cold, you can place a towel, wooden board or heated mat under it.
Pour the wax and, if necessary, stearin into a container and put it on a water bath or in a wax melter (without allowing the wax to get steam) melt the wax to a liquid state
Spread out the mat, clean it from dust, if necessary, lubricate it with vegetable oil (optional).
Prepare all the tools in front of you
Preparation of wax:
To the melted wax add colorant. The amount depends on the desired color. If you want to achieve a bright shade, use a well-pigmented dye, as adding too much may make the wax more brittle.
Stir the wax well to melt the dye.
Making process:
(a) Making the center:
1 option: pour the melted wax into the mold.
2 variant: pour a puddle of wax on a mat, wait until it cools down a bit and form the center by hand, as shown in the video;
use a hot molding tool to smooth out any irregularities.
b) making stamens:
melt a new batch of wax and color it yellow.
Pour the hot melted wax onto the mat and spread it with a spoon, let it cool down for a few minutes.
Cut out a fence of stamens with a knife or a scalpel.
glue the stamens around the center.
c) creating the petals and forming the bud:
melt a new batch of wax and color it in peach shade
pour the hot melted wax onto the mat and spread it thinly with a spoon; cut out 5 petals with the smallest cutter, give them the texture of veins with a viner, using a hair dryer if necessary, and round them with a stack.
stick a wooden skewer in the middle, turn the design upside down and glue the petals of the first row in a circle, dipping the tip of each petal in wax.
again pour hot melted wax onto the mat and spread it thinly with a spoon; cut out 5 petals with a larger cutter, give them the texture of veins with a viner, using a hair dryer if necessary, and round them with a stack.
glue all the petals in a circle; this row should be slightly elevated.
again pour the hot melted wax onto the mat and spread thinly with a spoon; use 3 different larger cutters to cut out 5 petals, give them a vein texture with a liner, using a hair dryer if necessary, and round them with a stack.
glue all the petals in a circle; this row should also be slightly elevated.
if necessary, smooth the bottom of the bud with a hot knife.
for the next row of petals it is necessary to get a wax of a brighter pink color, for this purpose we take the first wax, pour a little into another wax melter or ladle and add a little pink dye.
Form petals with gradient, for this purpose pour a spoonful of wax of one color on the mat and immediately next to it pour a spoonful of wax of the second color, mix them together.
with the help of 3 different catters with the size even larger than the previous ones make 5-6 petals, give them the texture of veins with the help of a viner, if necessary using a hair dryer, and round them with a maracas.
glue all the petals in a circle; this row should be on the same level as the previous one.
again create gradient petals, for the next row you will need 5-6 petals of even slightly larger size.
glue all the petals in a circle; this row should be slightly lower than the previous one.
if necessary, smooth the bottom with a hot knife
create the final gradient petals using the largest boat in the set.
glue all the petals in a circle, this row should be a little bit lower than the previous one.
d) forming the hole for the wick: very slowly and carefully push the skewer through the bud, insert the wick into the resulting hole.
